Plate-Oh is a reusable and biodegradable disposable paper plate composed by individual layers that are pressed together. It allows the user to peel off the top layer after each use, revealing a clean surface underneath.
Plate-Oh is a new philosophy for disposable plates. Often thrown away after one use, disposable paper plates are wasteful and contribute to the cumulating environmental cost. Since the cultural behavior of using disposables cannot be changed easily, the designers set out to design a better way to use disposable plates.
Plate-Oh offers a biodegradable and more sustainable solution to disposable paper plates without compromising on the conveniences – these plates are still easy, light and compact. It has a unique construction, formed by several individual layers that are pressed together. This allows the user to peel off the top layer after each use, revealing a ‘clean plate’ underneath. Each plate lasts up to 10 uses. This ground-breaking approach to disposable plates saves up to 60% in materials and manufacturing emissions, and up to 85% on shipping and packaging costs!
