Traditionally, electrical workers have been using traditional pole climbers to do maintenance work on utility poles, which poses a lot of inconvenience and danger. A traditional climber device also requires the worker to keep their legs in the same pose during the work process, which limits their flexibility of movement. Sometimes, a ladder truck may be opted for a task, but it is bulky and may not fit narrow roads. Each of the traditional methods of climbing poles is either dangerous or inflexible.

The Climber is a new solution to this problem by providing both safety and flexibility. The worker only has to bring the product to the foot of pole, start the device, fix it to the pole and stand on the platform. A safety rail then comes in from both sides of the device to hold and protect the worker. After which, the power wheels begin to lift the device slowly, and going up and down is easy with a control panel, just like using a lift. When the desired height is reached, the device locks in place to prevent accidental gliding. Now, the worker may begin work in a safe and efficient manner.

This device is composed of a body part with an operating platform, four fixed arms that move up and down, and four power arms in the middle. There are 12 fixed wheels on the fixed arms that clench onto the utility pole tightly, 6 motorised wheels providing power to move the device upwards and downwards, and a brake mechanism to lock the device securely in position. Built more compactly then usual worker lifts, Climber can be moved around easily just like a suitcase.
