Yao Cheng Chung, Taiwan
Cheng Chung Yao studied at the Pratt Institute New York and graduated as Master of Architecture. He is the founder of the Department of Interior Space Design of Shih Chien University and was its chairman from 1991-1998. From 2001 till 2002 he was associate professor at the Graduate School of Architecture of Tam Kang University and in 2008 associate professor at the Graduate School of Architecture of Chiao Tung University. In 1991, he founded t1 design and directs a team of architects, interior designers as well as exhibition and graphic designers. The works include private as well as public projects. The most noted design works are the City Plaza of Taiwan Pavilion of the 2012 Shanghai Expo, the Taiwan Design Museum and the Taiwan Design Center. During his presidency of the Chinese Society of Interior Designers (CSID) 2007-2010, he founded and chaired the Taiwan Interior Design Award (TID Award). In 2005, he was Chief Executive of the Asia Pacific Space Designers Association (APSDA), 2005-2007 Board member of the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) as well as Vice President of the Taiwan Design Alliance (TDA) 2008-2011.
