Firescuba

Firescuba is designed to protect people from smoke inhalation in the case of a fire. It is low cost, easy to manufacture, and very thin, which makes it easy to distribute or store at appropriate locations.

When a fire occurs, the smoke can be as dangerous as the flames. Protection from smoke inhalation is essential, and the Firescuba mask addresses this need. It is low-cost and easy to manufacture, having just two parts. The first part is akin to a cardboard envelope, which opens to fit the face snugly and is robust (thus retaining its structure even when handled). The second part is a carbon filter that extracts the harmful substances in smoke.

Being very thin, Firescuba can be easily distributed in public places or stored at fire hydrants, fire escapes, or any other location. Should a fire break out, people would be able to obtain a mask easily. Firescuba would extend the time in which people could escape from a fire.
