Red Point Measure is a digital measuring instrument for interior use. Using a laser beam measuring technique and simple mathematics, it measures a target length without the user needing to physically do so.

The Red Point Measure instrument does away with the need to climb ladders or seek someone else’s help in order to measure a significant length or one you cannot get near. It is used by swinging the two detector arms
and using the red light to point at the two ends of the target length, which is then shown on the screen. The creative working principal is based on a triangle- related formula: C = (A^2+B^2-2ABcosZ)^(1/2). When this instrument is in use, value C is the target length you want to know. Value A and value B are the triangle’s two side lengths. The triangle is formed by the two arms of the instrument and the target length. Value Z is the angle which is formed by the two sides. As long as you know value A, value B and value Z, the answer C can be calculated. Value A is comprised of value a1, which can be measured by the laser beam length, and value a2, which is the static length of the arm. Value B is derived in the same manner. Finally, the angle Z can be measured by a small device inside the instrument’s rotating axis. Thus, the answer C – the target length – can be
calculated.

Laser rays carry a certain electromagnetic wave. When the electromagnetic wave is reflected by the object, it returns at an interval from the original one. The microcomputer inside the device can calculate the distance. The laser ray beam used in the device is one
that is not harmful to the eyes – that is, one with a 905 nm or 1540 nm wavelength.
