Able to function as both a physical
rehabilitation aid and a game, Step Up is
an interactive catalyst for building physical
strength and exploring creativity.

Step Up is a children’s activity system for
physical rehabilitation programs or merely
for play. Incorporating an infl atable mat and
belts that are worn by the players, it has been
designed for easy use at home. The system
incorporates various games, play methods and
rehabilitation programs. Users communicate
with the system through feedback from the
rubber-lined belt device, which can be adjusted
to suit various body sizes. Movements on the mat are captured and converted into light and vibration on the belt. An audio guide and sound effects ensure the rehabilitation process runs smoothly. The floor mat is inflated through
an end cap. Defl ation allows more convenient
storage. With an appropriate program
prescribed by a rehabilitation specialist, Step Up allows patients to carry on with the
program at home. As a game, Step Up works
as a catalyst for children’s creative activities,
and can target both educational and active
games.
