The Morph concept device bridges between
advanced technologies and their potential
benefits to end-users of mobile devices. This
concept showcases nanoscale technologies
that will potentially create devices with a
spectrum of possibilities.
Launched alongside The Museum of Modern
Art’s “Design and The Elastic Mind” exhibition,
the Morph concept device showcases nanoscale technologies that are being explored by Nokia Research Center (NRC) in collaboration with the Cambridge Nanoscience Centre (United Kingdom). Morph concept technologies have been designed to provide opportunities for mobile devices.
The Morph concept device’s new flexible and
transparent materials blend more seamlessly
with the way we live, with transparent electronics offering an entirely new aesthetic
dimension.
Mobile devices could become self-cleaning
and self-preserving. A solar absorption element is integrated into the design to charge the device, and integrated sensors allow us to learn more about the environment around. The
device’s interfaces are simplified and thus, its
usability is enhanced.
In addition, the integrated electronics shown in
the Morph concept could cost less and include
more functions in a smaller area. These new
capabilities will unleash new applications and
services that will allow us to communicate and
interact in unprecedented ways. |
