Versadome is a versatile modular building
system. Arches and domes are the basic
elements of the weight-bearing structure. The uniquely designed structural shells are stackable for easy and affordable transportation, assembly and expansion.
The Versadome Modular Building System has
been designed to create rapidly deployable
structures that require no heavy machinery,
and can be erected using untrained labour.
The system as a whole is able to withstand
natural disasters such as hurricanes,
earthquakes and floods. The structural shells
have been designed to fit efficiently (by
stacking) into a standard shipping container.
One 40-foot container can fit enough
Versadome components to make 124-square-
meters of enclosed structure.
The system has been designed for a maximum
amount of structure with a minimum amount
of parts. It is expandable virtually without limit.
The arch and dome shells create a continuous
roofing system with rainwater transfer columns.
The cage-frame structure, created by
connecting the arch shells, is both low in
weight and high in strength. Environmentally
friendly, the Versadome design is energy-
efficient and low-maintenance. The versatile system can function as residential, institutional, industrial or recreational buildings. The Versadome is also adaptable to specific
topographical and planning conditions. The
structural shells may be combined with locally
available building materials as well as custom
designed parts. Additional add-on options are
also available to suit individual needs. These
include bathroom modules, solar-collecting
central domes, sun screens, room dividers and
window options.
The Versadome is an architectural product
responding to the current demand for
attractive, affordable and customisable building
systems. Eventually, there will be a large
selection of well-designed building systems
for every budget, as is already the case with
furniture and other industrial products. |
