Gigaset Solar is the high-end phone in the
Siemens Gigaset Eco Visions line. With solar
cells covering its front face, it does away
with cords for recharging. Pure, separable
materials add to its environmentally friendly
credentials.
The Gigaset Eco Visions are showcases for
promising new ways to shape the future of
environmentally friendly home communication.
Gigaset Solar, the high-end phone in the
Gigaset Eco Visions line, has solar cells
covering its front to provide a self-sustaining
energy supply. It recharges naturally when
exposed to light. Made with pure, separable
materials including metal, eco-plastics and glass, the Gigaset Solar combines a high-tech
appearance with an intelligent product concept
requiring less energy and fewer components.
For consumers, making the charger unnecessary is the next step in the evolution
of cordless telephony. Fewer wires and parts
mean more personal freedom in organising
home communication and integrating it with
the user’s personal living environment. The
combination of a transparent OLED display
with balanced sensor technology enables
function-specific keypad labelling and provides
easy and direct access to a wide range of product features. Another of the many
ergonomic properties of the Gigaset Solar
is the haptical separation of individual keys.
This allows more intuitive use and gives the
faceplate a clear user orientation. The eco-
index on the soft-touch back of the phone lists
environmentally relevant facts to give users a
clear idea of the energy consumption, built-in
technologies, materials and recyclability of the
product. |
