Designed to avoid unnecessary falls and potential injury, this illuminated manhole cover system uses rigs of light to draw attention to the danger of an uncovered manhole.

It’s surprising how often people fall into uncovered manholes, being unable to see the exposed opening in the nighttime darkness. This manhole cover has been designed for safety. The lid has a luminous ring around its outer edge, and the interior circumference of the manhole frame has the same. Thus, when the lid is removed, the dangerous opening will be highlighted. When the lid is in place, the light cannot be detected. The upper surface of the manhole lid is decorated with patterns of an Oriental theme that represent the flow of water.
