Inspiration for MORPHOGENESIS_CHAISE
was drawn from natural phenomenon such as
the microstructures of bones and sponges.
The intelligence and optimal performance
of such natural structural systems has been
turned into a contemporary design for a chaise
lounge.
The key stylistic element of the
MORPHOGENESIS_CHAISE is a jointless,
structurally active lattice system. Inspired
by the natural microstructures of bones and
sponges, it resembles the evolutionary trend of
efficiency – minimum expenditure of material
and effort to achieve maximum performance.
Structural analysis tools were used to optimise
the structure of the chaise and find the most
effective structure for all possible types of use
and user profiles. The frame structure is a
single monolithic piece, maximising strength
and emulating naturally evolving systems.
