Jury

The quality of a competition not only depends on the rules of its adjudication, but above all on the consistency with which these rules are applied. Therefore, the jury of the red dot design award guarantees – beyond highquality expertise – absolute independence. Only international experts who have not submitted any works of their own to the competition are invited to become members of the jury. The jurors are recognised design authorities who come from all around the world so that national cultural or social aspects have limited significance. The jurors are university lecturers, independent designers and expert journalists, who all have profound knowledge and a high international reputation.

The jury meet together in Singapore to evaluate the submissions and arrive at their decisions through debate and discussion based on a list of evaluation criteria instead of scoring each concept remotely. This ensures a sharing of knowledge and experience that greatly enhances the decisions made.

The jury members of the “red dot award: design concept 2007” include:

Werner Aisslinger, Germany

Tapani Hyvönen, Finland

Song Kee Hong, Singapore

Ron A. Nabarro, Israel

Kim Chul-Ho, Korea

Lu Xiaobo, China
